Ray Gessner is a license professional engineer in Virginia and Maryland and has a master’s degree in engineering. Ray is also FIRE certified. All our technicians are personally trained by Ray Gessner where he focuses on the important issues regarding the proper way to inspect, clean and repair your fireplace.


A Step in Time also has a class A contractor’s license, workers compensation insurance, liability insurance and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
